Influencer marketing is consumption at its finest, the ultimate connection between brands and their consumers. Influencers are the golden ticket for brands to connect to their target demographic in the most authentic and genuine way possible.

Think of this kind of marketing as having a friend whose opinion you trust completely. So, when they tell you ‘Hey, I tried using this toothpaste and loved it!’ or ‘Coke is my favorite brand of soda’, do you simply take their word for it? Of course... Why? Because there’s a sense of trust established! Influencers are either sharing their “personal lives” on social and YouTube, or establishing themselves as an expert in fashion, beauty, food or travel, which builds trust. The proof is in the photos, tweets, and videos they post across social.

The more they post, the more followers, and the more credibility they gain. Millennials have the buying power, and the buying power is placed in social. The question is, are they going to make a decision to buy Coca-Cola because The Coca-Cola Company tells them? Or, are they more likely to make this purchase because their favorite YouTuber drinks it frequently in vlogs?
